Today, I tried the TonyMoly Pureness 100 Snail mask that I purchased from The Cosmetic Store the other week. It’s my first TonyMoly product ever, so I was quite excited to try it!
I’m no stranger to snail skincare, so I went straight for this – I can’t even remember the other options to be honest. When I opened it, I noticed a light, floral fragrance straight away. However, it wasn’t strong and faded fairly quickly. The mask has a thick, clear essence. Even though the mask was LOADED with essence, it wasn’t drippy at all. It also didn’t come with a plastic liner (woo less wastage!) and to be honest, it probably didn’t really need one since the unbleached cotton was thick enough to maintain its folds without one.
Probably my only disappointment was that for a snail mask, snail filtrate was featured pretty low on the list. I like my snail products FULL of snail, and to see it almost at the end of the list was a bit shit.
However, the ingredients list is still full of moisturising ingredients, and I could definitely feel that my skin was more soft and hydrated after taking off the mask.
The mask itself was really nice – it was thick enough to not stretch over my features (looking at you, Papa Recipe Bombee), yet not so thick that it wouldn’t fit. It’s also one of the few masks where the mouth hole is actually big enough to be comfortable! The unbleached cotton was a nice touch, too.
Overall, I give this a 3.5/5. It moisturised really well without irritating my skin, but I can’t help but feel like it could have used more snail.
