Swatch & Review: OPI Stir-Fried Eggplant

Hi lovelies,

Today I have another ‘mystery OPI’ polish for you! Stir-fried Eggplant is a beautiful deep purple polish packed with shimmer and small gold flakies.

Unfortunately, the complexity and gorgeousness of this polish in the bottle doesn’t translate well onto the nail (and translates even worse into photos!). Nevertheless, it’s still a very pretty and unique vampy polish in my collection.

Stir-fried Eggplant applies flawlessly in two coats, and here I’ve sealed it off with one coat of Rica Glossy Glam top coat for durability and shine.

According to this blog, Stir-fried Eggplant is a repackaged polish from the Kardashian Nicole by OPI collection called Smile for the Glam-era. I don’t have both to compare, but swatches of Smile for the Glam-era do look exactly the same as my swatches of Stir-fried Eggplant.

I just can’t get over how gorgeous and complex this polish looks in the bottle! The deep, slightly browned purple base has a red/blue shimmer that’s similar to the shimmer seen in OPI Russian Navy. I only wish the gold flakes were as prominent on the nails as they are in the bottle – they’re pretty much the reason I picked this polish up in the first place.

Have you come across any mystery OPIs?
