Hi lovely readers,
I thought it might be time for some nail art. I initially tried to replicate Samantha Ravndahl’s (from Batalash, @ssssamanthaa on Instagram) super iconic black negative space mani, but I ended up having a really hard time so I settled for regular negative space half-moons.
Frankly, I’ve never tried half-moons before and thought they would be way easier! I used hole-punch reinforcers to create the half-moon shape, and ended up needing to clean up quite few lines with a small brush and acetone.
The colours I used are China Glaze Queen B (my FAVOURITE one-coat blue!) and Darling Diva Polish Ringer, which is a dupe for MaxFactor Fantasy Fire. I sealed it off with a coat of Sally Hansen Big Shiny. I’m still pretty happy with the end result, but I don’t think I would do half moons again!
Have you tried any new nail art lately?
I've been loving the negative space trend in nails and makeup going on lately, but my nails are pretty short and I don't really have any tools to experiment with it.
Lexie, this half manicure looks really particular and, for experience, I say by doing it in the "negative space mode" you've saved some extra time!
Me too, I've tried half moons once and I like it but the regular one took so much time and efforts, really so much, that I didn't do it again! 🙁
Have a wonderful weekend and xoxo
Thanks Valens 🙂
You can do it with plain old tape and scissors! 🙂
I've never tried negative space or half moon looks, but I always like them on instagram! I think this looks cool but I can see how it can be a real fuss to do.
Thanks Lena 🙂
